Tired but happy

As the election finally kicks off I am reminded of how long I have been struggling and spending countless hours and energy protesting against the effects and decisions of the Howard Government. I am so tired.
I thought back to when this era started about twelve years ago. I was about to turn 16. When you are 16, things are just started to get interesting. You discover your own autonomy, and the capacity that you have, as an individual to do what you want, find your own path and press onwards. Sometimes blindly, as we all can attest if we dare think back to when we were all 16.
I have so many stories and muscle strains from my adventures. From Woomera to the streets of Sydney, so many years of obstructing and pushing shit uphill. Organising to protest, shouting at empty buildings and wondering how we are all so powerless, yet so full of joy and the awareness of our possibilities. I want to rest and look at my life, not have to want to struggle against a tide of crazy bullshit all the time.
I have no real faith that we are going to be propelled into a fair utopianation if Rudd gets in.
But, I would really like a change. The country seems to feel it too.

Wall of technology

I was thinking today about the sheer scale of distractions that some of us have around us. Mobile phones that are omnipresent on peoples selves, facebook, myspace, blogs, email, youtube. Each one of these numbers us, and can be used to identify us.
Not that I care anymore. I am sick of the paranoia, so tired of the edge that your mind sits on with that mindset. i know what 'they' know, and y'know what, fuck it.
But i am wondering if anyone ever goes down to the park/library/main street/pub/cafe and just hangs out till they bump into a friend (or a stranger) and spend their time a bit more randomly. Does it seem that our time is planned out more and more?
Of course we now have the luxury (or techno-curse) of calling our friends if we are going to be late meeting them. In the 'old days' (the 1990s) we had to be on time or else our friends would be pissed at us or they'd fuck off and have fun.
These days I am even reminded of what I have RSVP'd to on facebook and I know which of my friends are going too. Im finally understanding why those paranoid government ads/parents groups say that social networking sites are a stalkers paradise (cue scary A Current Affair music).
Thats four (4) sets of brackets in two parargraphs. Am I a man of afterthoughts? At least I know what my barcode is...

I could just delete this post if I wanted to

Yay a blog, it's like its 2002 and I am really with the times. My mate Pete set this up for me. I can print you whatever you want, do logistics for your party of 1000 people and drink you under the table but I had a glitch in my headspace while trying to set this up.
Nice random pic to go with the first post. It's a reminder to me to stop biting my nails and get on with it. Thanks Pete!
So....
